The Kenntnisreich Vision
The foundations of further education are built during early childhood. Mindful of this, and of our mission to provide education for sustainable development, we believe in teaching children to live by the principles of sustainability. This means treating the natural world, its resources and fellow human beings with all the care and respect they deserve. For more information please visit Kenntnisreich
Our Blueprint for Early Years Care
At Kenntnisreich, we integrate components and methods from a range of philosophies of education to create a holistic framework for early years care and education. We do this in accordance with the Berlin Educational Programme and draw on a range of educational models including the Montessori and Waldorf traditions of pedagogy.
The result is a comprehensive conceptual framework that respects the individuality of every child and fosters the development of each child according to what they need.
We place particular emphasis on resource-oriented thinking, healthy eating, movement and posture, along with developing social skills and creating a friendly and respectful atmosphere.
EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
At Kenntnisreich, we’re focused on sustainable development. We help to develop children into becoming people who can grasp the challenges of an advancing environmentally-friendly and resource-efficient society. Global challenges such as climate change, ever higher levels of consumption and unequal wealth distribution demand a radical rethink of social, economic and environmental structures and our approaches to them.
Early childhood education is the root from where all later education processes grow. We see education for sustainable development (ESD) as the most decisive methodological approach for stimulating democratic participation, whether it is instilling fundamental values of humanism in children or promoting environmental education and global learning. We also see it as an ideal approach towards fostering the development of children’s identities, personalities and their confidence.
ESD is oriented towards the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. Taken together, these goals add up to a programme for combating hunger and poverty, making people healthier, promoting equal rights, and protecting the environment and the global climate.
Kenntnisreich also gives children opportunities to engage with digital media early in life and to pick up acceptable media consumption habits.
We share the ambition that’s encapsulated in the UN sustainable development goals and we embed it into our blueprint for early years education and care.
Inclusive and equitable education is one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development defines equal opportunities, quality education for all and reducing poverty as priorities.
Contributing to the realisation of the global 2030 roadmap in pursuit of these UN goals is an important objective for us at Kenntnisreich. Our focus is on SDG 4, quality education that is inclusive and equitable.
Education for sustainable development (ESD) is firmly embedded in Kenntnisreich’s approach to teaching and learning. It’s the value on which we are built.
We love letting children be creative. Kids from from our day nurseries and from external daycare centres can let their creativity run free in our very own studio.

Cooking & Baking
We cooperate with the following partners:
Our partnership with this certified organic farm enables us to provide project-oriented education and early years care.
Domberger Brot Manufaktur
Domberger supplies naturally leavened sourdough bread to our nurseries. Children can also learn how to bake sourdough bread themselves in our baking workshops. Understanding the processes involved helps them to understand healthy diets and the environment.
IQ Kids, day nursery in Georgia
We share the Kenntnisreich philosophy with children around the world. This mean establishing partnerships with childcare facilities in other countries so that children are exposed to other cultures in a borderless world where people share experiences and learn from each other.

PAIGE ONLINE LEARNING SYSTEM
The Kenntnisreich education portal PAIGE (Platform for Advanced Interactive Global Education) is an essential element in our approach to education. It is a key part in us nurturing the developmental partnership between parents, educators and children.
The Kenntnisreich education portal is a virtual assistant for our educators and all staff involved in the day-to-day running of our facilities. It makes it possible for teachers to plan their daily or weekly learning plan easily and informatively. Users can utilise a generous selection of text, video, and audio files based on our educational content. The expert team behind the portal supports our educators and assists them with administrative and content-related questions. Built-in chat gives you an ongoing dialogue with our support staff.
We use podcasts and learning videos to enable kids to learn using the most modern methods. Group books allow parents to discover how their children’s time in daycare is spent.
Our educational staff can also find all the important forms needed for the smooth running of our facilities in the admin area of the portal.
